* tiling window management: dynamically positioning and sizing windows by applying a specific layout selected by key stroke, leaving no blank space

AutoHotkey
AutoHotkey is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:
* Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder.
* Create hotkeys for keyboard, joystick, and mouse. Virtually any key, button, or combination can become a hotkey.
* Expand abbreviations as you type them. For example, typing "btw" can automatically produce "by the way".
* Create custom data-entry forms, user interfaces, and menu bars. See GUI for details.
PyKeylogger
PyKeylogger is a free open source keylogger written in the python programming language, available under the terms of the GNU General Public License. I threw it together one day after not being able to find a simple and trustworthy (as measured by the availability of source code) keylogger for windows, and it sort of snowballed from there. It is currently available for Windows (NT/2000 and up), and Linux (using Xlib, so won't work on the console).
GNU Midnight Commander for Windows
Midnight Commander is a console application with a text user interface. The main interface consists of two panels which display the file system. It is used in a similar way to many other programs run in the Unix shell. Arrow keys control file selection, the insert key is used to select files and the Function Keys perform operations such as renaming, editing and copying files. Later versions of the Midnight Commander additionally have mouse support for easier operation. Such versions are aware of GPM and X terminal emulators which support mouse reporting.
GNetWatch - Real-time network monitoring
GNetWatch is a free open source Java application that offers real-time graphical monitoring and analysis of network performance through SNMP and ICMP. To get an instant view of the network state, data are collected, stored and displayed every few seconds. Two traffic generation modules are available. The former can flood UDP packets of any size (jumbo frames for instance) and tagged with any DiffServ/ToS flag for QoS and class of services testing. The latter can generate a huge quantity of parallel requests to any HTTP(s) server, for web applications load testing.
WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics
WinDirStat is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Microsoft Windows (all current variants).
Features
WinDirStat reads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in three useful views:
* The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size,
* The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away,
* The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.
FreeTrack
FreeTrack is a free optical motion tracking application for Microsoft Windows, released under the GNU General Public License. Its main function is inexpensive head tracking in computer games and simulations but can also be used for general computer accessibility, in particular hands-free computing. Tracking is sensitive enough that only small head movements are required so that the user's eyes never leave the screen.
